Donation Options
The Edmonton Mountain Bike Alliance (EMBA) is a registered not-for-profit Alberta Society. However, we are NOT registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Consequently, donations made directly to EMBA are not tax deductible.
However, as a member of Alberta Bicycle Association and with their support donors to our project may receive an official donation receipt for tax purposes if donating through the Alberta Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (SPAR) Donation Fund Program. SPAR Donation Fund Program encourages support for the development of sport, physical activity and recreation in Alberta. The program gives eligible individual and corporate donors an opportunity for a tax incentive to invest in the future of the sector.
While donations to the SPAR Donation Fund Program must be unconditional, donors may suggest support of eligible sport, physical activity and recreation development programs. This includes support for the development of programs and facilities, including our project.
EMBA understands that the Alberta Bicycle Association (ABA) is the only “bicycle” related provincial sport organization currently eligible for support from SPAR., ABA has agreed to support the development of the Queen Elizabeth Bike Skills Park with donation of all funds received through SPAR Donation Fund Program for the purpose of supporting this “Facility Development”.
As a result, there are two options for supporting the Queen Elizabeth Bike Skills Park:

IMPORTANT Note: The SPAR Donation Fund Program has no obligation to honor such recommendations, but will generally do so.
